Born in Berkshire, England on 8th February 1989, Dani Harmer is best known for her role in the number 1 rated CBBC TV Series Tracy Beaker. Having started her acting career aged 6 in the Pete Townsend rock musical ‘Tommy’, Dani’s career has gone from strength to strength. She landed the role of Tracy Beaker at the tender age of 12, and has played the character for FIVE successful series and still continues to make her mark on TV in her own sitcom Dani’s House. The hit CBBC show is a surreal sitcom about a struggling actress; continuously left in charge of her annoying siblings and their friends (including a ‘baby from hell’). Series 2 and 3 of Dani’s House are due to air later this year.

Dani has had roles in several high profile programmes including Trial & Retribution, My Family, Pie in the Sky, The 10th Kingdom, Beast, and Touch Me, I’m Karen Taylor. The highlight of her career so far was performing at the Queen’s 80th Birthday bash – in the reprised role of Tracy Beaker. The Tracy Beaker TV movie lead Dani to a “Best Actress” Nomination at the Welsh BAFTAs.

Acting isn’t Dani’s only talent – and May 2009 will see the official release of Dani’s debut single Free. Having struck a mega deal with Universal Music, Dani is set to follow in the footsteps of her American counterparts – Hilary Duff and Miley Cyrus by making the transition from screen star to pop-star. With Daniel Glatman, who famously managed number 1 selling boy band Blue, onboard as her manager there will be no stopping her!!

The Debut single will already be instantly recognisable to the legions of Dani Harmer fans as it is used as the theme tune to her current TV series Dani’s House. The debut album is scheduled for release in September and is best described as an infectiously fresh blend of pop, dance, rock, and features some big name pop collaborations. With Dani’s musical influences ranging from Led Zepplin to The Wombats, and from Blink 182 to Queen the album is sure to have universal appeal.

Dani’s passion for music was ignited at a young age and she has continued to actively indulge her passion alongside her acting career. Dani has also presented on BBC Radio 7’s The Big Toe as well as presented CBBC and The Mighty Truck of Stuff.
